Making history at the event of the launch of HMS Defender on 21 October 2009, was PS Waverley, which, for the first time in history, berthed at the BVT yards on the River Clyde, Glasgow to disembark dignitaries involved with the launch.
This unique photograph taken by me, at an elevated height, of approximately 60 feet using an aerial ground mast, shows the complete arena of 13,000 invited guests, the defender proudly positioned prior to launch and the PS Waverley aginst the backdrop view of the north bank of the river.
